Nail in the Fence

I got this heartwarming story from a friend of mine and I would like to share it with you.

There was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him everytime he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day, the boy had driven 37 nails into the back of the fence.

Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammer gradually dwindled down. He found it easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn’t lose him temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said “You have done well my son, but look at holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won’t matter how many times you say “I’m Sorry”, the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a psychical one.

I think I would have destroyed the whole fence if that were to happen to me. PMS and temper? Lethal. Jokes aside, I think you know the true point of the story.

I know I can appreciate my friends everyday but I just want to say, Happy Friendship Day! ♥

Dance and Trance or Electronica. NOT TECHNO.

I woke up fairly early today, about 10am and feeling a lot better than yesterday. I kid you not, yesterday was hell. I could remember clearly the excruciating back ache and sharp, ‘dodgie’ pain in my tummy. To top the icing off the cake, I had this ongoing heavy head all day long. I broke the fever after I applied some heat rub on my back. It made me wondered too, why doesn’t a heat rub heats me up? It made me shivered for a good half an hour before I got into a more comfortable state. Shouldn’t it be called a cool rub instead? Therefore it won’t give the wrong message to those who actually looks forward to a warm sort of balm.  I was sceptical with the whole heat rub thing but miraculously, it worked! It adacadabra-ed the pain away! Whoot! Call me lazy, I only bothered to take medications around 4pm after my first meal, a bowl of wheetabix with chocolate chips. I took some charcoal pills for the upset tummy and a couple of Lemsips for any ‘stray’ fever. But what really helped me was the long rest. Seriously, I slept for most of the day. I didn’t feel guilty about it, infact, I think it was a much needed rest. Hallelujah!

Anyhow, talking about today, my day was rather uneventful. After I gained 100% consciousness, I turned on MBP and did my usual routine on the WWW. I was browsing iTunes Store and I came across a few songs in which I find were interesting. Here are some of the songs:

  • In And Out Of Love by Armin Van Buuren
  • Love Stereo by Edward Maya
  • I See Right Through To You (Radio Edit) by DJ Encore
  • The Radio (Radio Edit) by Get Far
  • Spaceship [Feat. Kelis, Apl.De.Ap & Jean-Baptiste] by Benny Benassi
  • Feel It in My Bones by  Tiesto
  • Forever And A Day (Radio Mix) by Fragma
  • Escape Me by Tiesto
  • Fire In Your New Shoes by Kaskade
  • Castles In The Air by Ian Van Dahl
  • Amazing by Inna
  • I Like That feat. Luciana by Richard Vission & Static Revenger
  • Restlessness (Radio Edit) by Wendel Kos & Rose
  • Could You Believe It by ATB

I can make a compilation with these songs. It was noon when Aslan came over to my house. I didn’t hear him shouting my name from the ground floor because my speakers were on full blast. I only realized he was outside my house door when I saw two misscalls on my BB screen. I was preparing lunch when Aslan said “Iyeeee… nengar lagu technooooo…” He brought up the story where I taunted him for listening to some gai sounding ‘techno’ years back. Of course I got offended and told him that what I was listening to a while ago was actually Dance music or for some, it is trance and to some extend, it can be called Electronica. Techno sounds so wrong.

I ended the debate with a threatening stare and a warning he won’t get his lunch. Hehehe. After he left for the seminar in the city, I took some photos for the blog header. I came up with this:

Not all of my shoes are here but these are some of them anyway...

Basically today was a barefoot day. Uneventful and very relaxing. What made my day more fulfilling is finding the gem of songs!

Inspired by Glee, I officiate this blog with a friendly and warm hello. Welcome to my blog.
